The Firewall 8.0 Essentials: Configuration and Management course combines instructor-led training and interactive labs to build a working knowledge of how to install, configure and manage Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation firewalls.The course covers the configuration and management of Global Protect to extend firewall protection to external systems outside the network perimeter. This course includes configuration and management of firewall high availability, and the monitoring of network traffic via the interactive web interface and firewall reports.
Who will the Course Benefit?
The Configuration and Management course is intended for anyone who anyone who is responsible for the day-to- day management, installation, or support of a Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation firewall.This includes Security Administrators, Security Engineers, Security Operations Specialists, Security Analysts, Networks Engineers and Support Staff.
Anyone planning to attend the Panorama 8.0: Manage Multiple Firewalls (EDU-221), and Firewall 8.0: Debug and Troubleshoot (EDU-311), are strongly recommended to complete the Firewall 8.0: Configuration and Management course before attending those courses.
The Firewall 8.0 Essentials: Configuration and Management course is the recommended training for taking the Accredited Configuration Engineer (ACE) exam. Additionally this course combined with the Panorama 8.0: Manage Multiple Firewalls course are recommended training for anyone planning on taking the Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer 8 (PCNSE8) certification exam.
The following is required when attending the course:
Basic familiarity with networking concepts including routing, switching, and IP addressing
Familiarity with basic security concepts
Experience with other security technologies (IPS, proxy, and content filtering) is a plus.

This course will be run at the Edinburgh Training and Conference Venue, which is situated in the centre of Edinburgh, just 5 minutes walk from Waverley Station and close to major bus routes, including the airport bus. Discounted parking is available at the St John's Hill NCP Car Park. Our training rooms are light and spacious, all are air conditioned with natural daylight.
