Phased Re-Opening on 15th July 2020
These past few months have been challenging for everyone, and we hope that you are all safe and healthy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on the current Scottish Government guidance we plan a phased re-opening of the Venue on 15th July 2020.
Some things might look a bit different but our friendly welcome will be the same! Many of our systems and procedures have been changed to make sure that your leaders, delegates and our staff remain safe and well. You’ll find details below.
New Policies and Procedures:
Cleaning and Hygiene
Hourly cleaning of high contact surfaces in all communal areas
Wall-mounted hand sanitiser available throughout the building and wipes in rooms
All electronic equipment sanitised daily
Temperature checks of all people entering the building
New processes & systems to serve food safely
An electrostatic disinfectant sprayer used in the room cleaning process to sanitise both hard and soft surfaces, including the difficult to wipe areas
We have marked out our communal areas to help you safely navigate through the building. Please follow these social distancing measures so everyone can enjoy their time.
While it may not always be possible to practice social distancing, we ask that you please be considerate of others.
There will be:
Streamlined sign-in procedure
Reduced maximum capacities to respect social distancing
- Room allocation based on social distancing guidelines
- Seating layouts in rooms adhere to social distancing, we’ll stick with 2 metre distancing for now, but will keep the situation under review
- Increased signage through the venue
We’ve laid out the rooms carefully so that you can socially distance with ease. However, we ask that you wear a face covering in the common areas.
Your safety is our top priority, we will be carrying out all the necessary precautions to make sure we can safely accommodate your future event.

For meeting rooms …
We were very impressed with the service offered by Edinburgh Training and Conference Venue. Meeting rooms and catering were excellent and the level of staff support was outstanding. Technical support was outstanding too and also very impressive was the assistance from reception in greeting our interview candidates and showing them to the coffee lounge.
All staff approached for help were unfailingly pleasant and very competent. Lunch (buffet) was excellent – high quality and generous amounts. Tea break cakes were delicious too and staff delivering the food were very sensitive about not interrupting our interviews.

Thanks very much for hosting our session this week, which went very well. In total 60 people booked and although we had some cancellations and some no shows there were 37 people at the session.
Yet again the Edinburgh Training and Conference Venue has provided us with excellent hospitality and I would encourage anyone looking for a venue to give you a call. As a regular trainer in the Edinburgh Training and Conference Venue, I am constantly impressed with the professionalism displayed by every member of staff.
The manager is always on hand to welcome the trainer regardless of what time I arrive (7:30 onwards) and I love the continuous upgrades at the Venue. I travel throughout the UK and this is by far the best training venue. Outstanding attention to detail!

It is hard to find a venue who are so accommodating and flexible to our needs! The room was great and the lunch was very nice – really good selection (even gluten free option for me that I wasn’t expecting!).
